Purpose

Yreka Institute for the Arts is an "OPEN" arts environment and training center for all the arts. It's purpose is to provide a positive setting for the exploration, inspiration, and sharing of all the arts. Anyone can join this group by becoming a member of "Yreka Preservation" the parent group of this institute. This environment allows you to teach, study, and show what you have to offer to the arts. Drawing, Watercolor, Hand built Ceramics are now being offered on Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. These classes are open to all interested persons in the Greater Yreka area. for information call 340-5587 or email ydeast@gmail.com. Classes are open to all levels of experience. Classes are $4.00 per class and are open ended. This is a studio environment with lots of interesting thing being created all the time. Yreka Institute for the arts and science is always looking for instructors. Knowledgeable individuals in the arts and sciences. What counts is knowledge in the area. Degree and non-degree persons are welcome to apply.

Four more great sculptures have been fired in the Masters Sculpture Class. This white clay picks up the warm and cool lights of the environment to make a stunning visual image. Just a reminder this is an open class. This means that you can join the class on any Wednesday form 7 to 9. Beginners as well as advanced are always welcome. The charge is $ 3 a night.
